Thanks, so much, Sherry.
Ten years ago, when I was only 37 years old, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a 2 year old child, and a loving husband so we went for the cure! After months of chemo and radiation and 5 years of Tamoxifen which contributed to 45 pounds of weight gain on my 5' frame, I was finally ready to start losing my weight and getting back to feeling and looking great again.
The doctors had always warned me to have my eyes examined during and after the Tamoxifen usage and since I had worn contacts and glasses since I was a teen, eye exams no big deal....or so I thought. Tamoxifen has a funny way of damaging the back of some people's eyes from years of taking it and I was to watch out. Well, I hadn't noticed anything different until after 5 years of being OFF Tamoxifen. One day I noticed that dark swirls were appearing in my left eye and my right eye was seeing the verticle and horizontal lines squiggly. I just thought it was stress related and shook it off, but after a few months of this it getting really hard to see at night when I got up to use the restroom, I decided I needed to tell my eye doctor. He sent me to an opthamologist who sent me to more experienced ones in this field and finally after many months of MRIs, spinal taps, blood work and so on, I was diagnosed with Pseudo Tumor Cerebra! That is a swelling in my brain behind my eyes that acts like a tumor which pushes on my optic nerves and can lead to blindness if I didn't get really serious about this immediately. So, with the advise of my eye doctors and neurologist, I was told to find a way to get healthy and fit with weight loss, fast!
A friend at my school told me about a friend who had a wonderful trainer named Sherry Mohr. She said this trainer was a straight shooter; professional, sweet, but not one to mess with. I needed someone to take ahold of me and give me a swift kick in the right direction!!! I had to cut out salts, fats and sugars and get strong both physically and mentally. I was fighting for my eyesight!
Sherry has been a God send to me. She is so much more than a trainer. She texts me, stays on top of my nutrition, encourages me, boosts me up when I'm in a slump and senses when I am down and out. She is so important to me because she is educated in the very things I am not-nutrition and exercise. I have lost 30 pounds and about 30 inches with Sherry and I'm not done! I have more to go but my eyes are so much better. I'm shopping for clothes again and people are commenting again about how pretty I look. I felt helpless and afraid and God heard my fear and led me to Sherry. Listen to her. She knows her stuff!!!
